How the funds are spent:


Funds raised and public donations are administered by the League of Friends on behalf of St Leonards Community Hospital and to comply with our rules, must be spent for the good of the patients and staff at St Leonards Hospital.

Purchases and services include:-

Oxygen Concentrator.

INR machine in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Ferndown.

7 x over bed mobile tables.

6 x footrests.

Syringe Driver.

Digital camera for photographing wounds etc.

20 x TVs for patients rooms.

Patients dedicated mobile coin operated telephone complete with trolley.

Ongoing line rental for above.

Connect Box, TV and IPOD Player.


10 x TENS machines and

various equipment for physiotherapy dept.

4 x patients wheelchairs.

2 x Drinking water machines outside wards.

2 x daily and 1 x evening newspaper for patients on ward.

Funding for employment of specialist activities coordinator for patients.

Sherry to assist patients appetites, under strict medical supervision.

Constant supply of toiletries and slippers when needed for patients.

Funding C.H.A. membership for medical staff.

Funding and hosting Christmas dinner dance for staff.

Current projects include:-

Shed / workshop for Local Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team.

Partitioning of discreet areas of Canford Ward to create meeting rooms, thereby releasing extra space for physiotherapy dept

Purchase of 8 x wardrobes and lockers for patients rooms.
